Leadville Lifestyle has been revamped and relaunched to be an onlime community information portal for Leadville and anyone interested in Leadville.
We had a plan for this site, but Laura’s surgery put our plan on hold until she was recovered. At the beginning of March we started our relaunch. Leadville Lifestyle now offers a community portal featuring: community interaction, current daily news feeds, special Leadville stories, the ability to post videos and images by users, the ability to have your own blog on our site, and we will post all press release sent to us by all businesses and locals in the area.
In order to achieve what we wanted we used Wordpress. We did the design utilizing a template for the wordpress backend purposes. We had to tweak our template to suit our needs. First we had to tweak the way the permalinks worked. We changed the way the links were working so that certain links opened a new window. We created the look of the site with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. The logo was designed by us as well.
Our biggest accomplishment with this site was the SEO which Wordpress combined with social media, and fresh content helped us take the website from 200 unique visits a month to over 13,000 visits a month. This was accomplished within a month. We also obtained Google and other search engine rankings. We have not reached number one yet but we are on the front page for Leadville news, and several other key terms. We will next utilize Google Ad Words to help us continue to climb on search engines.
We just started our social media campaign. Our campaign includes utilizing Twitter, Facebook, MyBlogLog, YouTube, and Flickr. The YouTube is Leadville Channel we have set up that will feature videos from us as well as others who wish to share Leadville.
We will be officially do a relaunch on April 17, 2010. Our community features are something no one else in town offers.
